About CyberScop: Security Tools for People, Not Just Experts

CyberScop is a free cybersecurity tools and online privacy platform. It offers 8 free online security checks, from an IP lookup and DNS leak test to SSL, DNS and email security checkers, and explains every result in plain English. It's built for everyday internet users, website owners and small IT teams.

Why we built CyberScop

Most free security checkers show you raw data, such as DNS records, certificate fields or HTTP headers, and leave you to work out what it means. CyberScop pairs every check with a plain-English explanation and a clear next step.

Questions about VPN connections, DNS settings, website certificates, suspicious links and email authentication usually need technical knowledge that most people don't have. Our goal is to make those checks quick to run and easy to act on, whether you're protecting your own privacy, running a website or looking after a small business.

What we believe

Better security starts with better understanding.

Security is for everyone

Security basics should be easy to use, whether you're browsing, running a website or learning about privacy for the first time.

Plain language over jargon

We explain what a result means and what to do about it, instead of handing you raw data.

Honest about limits

We say what each check can and can't tell you. No single tool proves a site, device or connection is completely safe.

Respect for your privacy

Our tools need no account, and we don't keep your lookups against your identity.

Your privacy when you use CyberScop

  • No account or email needed to use any tool.
  • We don't keep your lookups against your identity.
  • Standard server logs are kept briefly for security.
  • The leak test runs its checks inside your browser.

The Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect and why.

How we write our guides

  • Every guide answers one real question in plain English.
  • We base advice on official standards and documentation, and link to them.
  • We update guides when standards, browsers or best practices change.
  • Spotted a mistake? Tell us and we'll correct it.

How CyberScop is funded

The 8 security tools are free and will stay free. VPN Plus, our paid VPN, is how we plan to fund them. It's in early access now, and you never need it to use the tools.

What our tools can't do

Our tools help you investigate specific security and privacy signals. No single check can guarantee that a device, website, connection, email or link is completely safe, and results depend on the information available at the time.

Only check websites, domains and IP addresses you own or have permission to assess. For business-critical systems, follow up with a full security assessment by a qualified professional.
